DRAWING INSPIRATION

Beyond Blue tasked us with addressing their biggest hurdle: the misconception that they are a crisis line, not a broader resource for mental health. We needed to reach people before the point of crisis, which meant educating people about the earliest signs of poor mental health. But because it can be hard to put words to feelings, we asked people to visualise them instead. The illustrative scribble style that runs through this entire campaign, began with our own genuine difficulty in depicting emoticons visually, and led to something much greater. The hope is this campaign will better equip people to heed the often ignored signs of deteriorating mental health before it becomes overwhelming.
